History of Music
Music has influenced and been influenced by cultures since prehistoric times. Words that seem to lack significance suddenly become powerful when added to a tune. Music has evoked and expressed a wide range of emotions from love, joy, and excitement to anger, grief, and sorrow.
Music was used in rituals and ceremonies in its earliest stages and evolved to express human emotions. Music has continued to hold a high place in society throughout history as people’s lives have revolved around it.
While music throughout the world varies greatly in style, the instruments used to make the music share the same acoustic principles. The methods for playing are also similar throughout the world.
